Honey & Eggs

Honey Rules

  1. Entries will be accepted Friday, September 7, 2018; 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
  2. Only one exhibit in each lot can be entered.
  3. All exhibits must be claimed on Sunday, September 16, 2018 between 6:00pm-8:00pm or they will be disposed of by the Fair Association.
  4. Entries must be harvested by the person entering the honey.
  5. All entries must be in a pint size jar with no label or fabric topper.
  6. Judging will be on container appearance, purity, freedom of crystals & form, and flavor. Honey samples will be given water test. Lots 5 & 6 will be judged on appearance & taste.
  7. Youth divisions are available in the 4-H & Youth Divisions. Same rules apply.

Honey – Class 1

  • Lot 01 Honey, no comb/light amber
  • Lot 02 Honey, with comb/light amber
  • Lot 03 Honey, no comb/dark amber
  • Lot 04 Honey, with comb/dark amber
  • Lot 05 Flavored Honey (cinnamon, etc.)
  • Lot 06 Honey Candy (6 pieces min., bring recipe to be displayed)

 

Eggs Rules

  1. Entries will be accepted Monday, September 10, 2018; 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
  2. Only one exhibit in each lot can be entered.
  3. Entries are 3 eggs for lots 1-5, and 1 egg for lots 6-8.
  4. All exhibits must be claimed on Sunday, September 16, 2018 between 6:00pm-8:00pm or they will be disposed of by the Fair Association.
  5. Entries must be from hens raised by the person entering eggs.
  6. Judging will be on cleanliness, egg shape, shell texture, & ridges.
  7. Youth divisions are available in the 4-H & Youth Divisions. Same rules apply.

  • Lot 01 Small/Medium White Eggs (3)
  • Lot 02 Large/Jumbo White Eggs (3)
  • Lot 03 Small/Medium Brown Eggs (3)
  • Lot 04 Large/Jumbo Brown Eggs (3)
  • Lot 05 Multi Colored (blue, green, or speckled, etc.) (3)
  • Lot 06 Largest Egg (1)
  • Lot 07 Smallest Egg (1)
  • Lot 08 Most Unusual Egg (1)
