Information and General Rules

The management of the West Tennessee State Fair reserves the right to amend, add to and interpret the following rules and questions and differences in regard thereto, or otherwise arising out of, connected with, or incident to the Fair. In the event of conflict between General Rules and Special Rules which appear as head notes to the various Division and Departments of the Fair, the later will take precedence

ENTRY AND RELEASE TIMES

ENTRY:

Thursday, September 4, 1:00 - 6:00 p.m., Art, Canning, Clothing, Hobbies & Crafts, Needlework, Photography, Quilts, Youth, and 4-H all entries (except Culinary, Cut Flowers and Horticulture).

and

Monday, September 8, 1:00 - 6:30 p.m. Culinary, Cut Flowers, Fruits & Vegetables, Crops, Horticulture, Youth and 4-H Culinary, Cut Flowers and Horticulture.

RELEASE: Monday, September 15, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. No releases before this time and no one admitted until 4:00 p.m.

GENERAL RULES

1. All exhibits must be made or grown by the exhibitor.
2. All articles exhibited at owner’s risk, but reasonable precautions will be taken for the protection of exhibitors.
3. All articles must not have been exhibited before at the West Tennessee State Fair.
4. Awards and premiums for the 2007 winners will be FIRST PLACE RIBBON and $3.00; SECOND PLACE, red ribbon and $2.00; and THIRD PLACE, white ribbon and $1.00; unless otherwise stated. BEST OF SHOW in all departments will be chosen from the blue ribbon winners.
5. 'An Outdoor A-Fair' is the 2008 Family Center theme. A special commemorative ribbon will be awarded to exhibitors that particularly emphasize the theme.
6. No person may exhibit more than one article in any lot.
7. The committee reserves the right to refuse to accept any exhibit considered unsuitable for the fair.
8. The committee will be in complete charge of arranging exhibits.
9. Two divisions include:
(a) Youth and 4-H Boys and Girls Division for all youth through age 19;
(b) Adult division for men and women ages 20 and above.
10. Youth may enter adult division if no category is offered in Youth Department.
11. Exhibitors are restricted from the exhibit area during judging.
