1. The West Tennessee State Fair reserves the right to change
any and all rules and declare off any classes or premiums
because of the acts of God, excessive rains or causes not within
the power of the management to control.
2. Every possible precaution will be taken to safeguard the
articles and animals exhibited, on the grounds, but the West
Tennessee State Fair will not be responsible, in any case, for
the loss or damage to articles or animals.
3. The management reserves the right to carry over the program
from day to day, or declare off any or all classes on account of
cyclone, excessive rain, or any other calamity over which it has
no control.
4. With the exception of the livestock, relics and curios, all
articles entered for exhibit must have been raised or produced
by the exhibitor, otherwise no premium will be paid on such
exhibit.
5. Every article and animal must be entered for competition in
the name of the actual owner.
6. All livestock must pass appropriate health inspection by the
State Department of Health.
7. On the entry of each animal or article, a tag will be fur-
nished, specifying the class, the number of the lot, and the
number of the entry, which card must remain attached n a
conspicuous place near the animal or article during the
exhibition.
8. Exhibitors must not ask for or expect free passes. For all
exhibits requiring entry fee, no premium will be paid unless
entry fee has been paid in full at time entries close and
specified in premium list.
9. All exhibits entered for competition will be under the
control of the superintendent of that department.
10. Judges will be particular to observe the following rules:
BLUE RIBBON, designated for the first premium; RED RIBBON for
second premium; WHITE RIBBON for third premium; PINK RIBBON for
fourth premium; GREEN RIBBON for fifth premium; and shall be
affixed by the superintendent under the direction of the judges
at the time the award is made on all animals and articles shown.
11. Premiums will be awarded only for the articles named in the
catalog. Where there is no competition, and the entry is worthy,
first ribbon will be given.
12. Premiums and prizes are paid only from awards made by the
judges as they appear on the signed judges’ sheets and cards of
records and not from ribbons attached to the exhibit.
13. At the conclusion of the Fair, the exhibitor must claim and
take entire charge of his exhibit and supervise the removal, but
no exhibit shall be removed or disarranged prior to the time
designated in each department.

A Best of Show Award will be presented to the most outstanding
commercial exhibit along with first, second and third rosettes.
Space is available for any commercial or service organization to
introduce products to the general public.
Exhibitors are allowed to sell products within the confinement
of their allotted space or to conduct drawings for prizes at the
end of fair week. Exhibit space will be judged on originality,
presentation, and appearance. Exhibit booths should not be
disassembled before 5:00 p.m., September 16.
PRIVILEGE AND
CONCESSION PEOPLE
All privilege and concession people, together with their
employees, assistants, and helpers, must obey the rules of any
other special regulations of the Association as they may be
notified. Any refusal or neglect to do so will forfeit any right
they may have had by virtue of such privilege or concession.
This Association reserves the right to refund in whole or in
part money paid for privilege of concessions and to refuse to
allow any party or article to operate or do business should they
or it become objectionable.
All property, fixtures, merchandise, the property or privilege
of the concession people, etc. will be taken in the grounds at
their own risk and kept in such places as they themselves
provide or agree to and the Association will not be responsible
for any loss, damage, theft, or failure to perform its part of
the contract should officers of the law seize, stop, prevent the
party from operating or doing business on the grounds of the
Association.
